Maintenance GENIUS — our WordPress plugin for maintenance and launch pages
Born from eighteen years of WordPress maintenance in an agency. We run it on our own client sites, and it is free for everyone.
Most maintenance plugins send a header to your cache and hope for the best. This one loads a module ahead of every cache plugin, purges, suspends then restores their settings — and confirms with a real request that your visitors actually receive the page.
Free, and complete
Every preset, the full design toolkit, access control, scheduling and the diagnostic. No watermark, no time limit, no site limit.
Your rankings protected
A real HTTP 503 with a Retry-After header during the work, and an indexable Coming Soon mode for sites before launch.
Privacy by default
GDPR mode is on from the moment you install: no external resource is loaded until you ask for it. Compliant with Quebec’s Law 25.
🍁 Built in Montreal💬 Support in French and English🔓 No licence key required

Questions about the plugin
Yes, entirely, with no site limit. Every preset and theme, the full design toolkit, background image and video, the countdown, scheduling, the visitor password, access tokens, allow and block lists, visit statistics and the diagnostic. No watermark, no time limit, no key to enter.
It covers the operation rather than the display: a snapshot is taken before you touch the site, and if an update breaks something, the breakage is detected, the site goes back into maintenance, the files are restored, then the site is probed again before it is declared healthy. Plans and pricing are on maintenancegenius.ca.
No. The plugin returns HTTP 503 with a Retry-After header — the official signal for a temporary outage. Google comes back later without dropping you from the index. For a site before launch, Coming Soon mode returns HTTP 200 and stays crawlable.
That is precisely what it does differently. A module loads ahead of WP Rocket, LiteSpeed, WP Fastest Cache, WP Super Cache, Cache Enabler and Hummingbird, purges their directories, suspends their settings then restores them on the way out. The Diagnostic tab confirms it worked.
Because we needed it. We have maintained WordPress sites since 2008, and no plugin on the market treated maintenance as a risky operation rather than a simple display. It is published free, and support comes from Montreal.
